Welcome

The Bolton PTA is a group of parents and teachers who work together to benefit education in our town. We believe that educating children is truly a joint effort between teachers, administrators, parents, and all town residents who generously support Bolton Public Schools in so many ways.

We invite you to browse our site to learn more about our Bolton PTA — and perhaps to consider ways in which you can get involved in helping to support and promote excellence in education.

Career Day

WE INVITE YOU TO SHARE YOUR CAREER EXPERIENCES AT OUR 8TH ANNUAL CAREER DAY ON WEDNESDAY, MAY 23, 2012

What is this? It’s an opportunity for Bolton middle school students to take part in a day of career awareness activities. Students will explore career options that match their interests and abilities. Community members and diverse professionals will lead a variety of small interactive workshops.

When and where is this taking place? Mid-day, May 23rd at Bolton Center School located at 108 Notch Road in Bolton, CT.

We need volunteers!!! We would like to invite parents and professionals to be a part of Career Day by offering to speak with our students about their careers.
*If you would like to volunteer your time and speak in one or more of our three 40-minute workshops on Career Day or have any questions, please contact Heather Ranson at Heather.Ranson@boltonct.org or (860) 643-2411 by March 1, 2012.

Thank you and we look forward to this wonderful annual event!!

A Letter from the PTA President!

Thank you for attending the January 31st meeting!  Thank you to our PBIS team for your presentation on the BARK program. We also honored our Reflections Participants, Nik Hof, Jacob Dufour, Erica Dean and Jacob Sondik. Our next meeting is March 21, 2012 at 6:30 in the BCS Library. State Trooper Tilley will be speaking about drug use, inhalant use, drunk driving and other dangerous activities our children could be exposed to in the coming years. If you have any ideas for speakers, please let us know at boltonpta@boltonpta.org.  We would love to hear your ideas.

The PTA is a wonderful way to be involved in your child’s school and education. We are an organization that believes strongly in advocating for our children and work hard to make a difference in our community and educational needs. We would not be able to continue without the help of all of our dedicated parents.  Volunteering your time is up to you.  We would never expect anyone to take on too big of a role.  Please take the time to attend one of our meetings. Joining the PTA does not mean that you are required to attend meetings or required to volunteer.  We are looking for several volunteers and would appreciate anything you can offer.  Thank you.

Alison Romkey, President

U.S. News and World Report released its ranking America’s Best High Schools for 2009. Bolton High School was one of sixteen Connecticut schools to be awarded the silver medal, thereby ranking it as one of the top 600 performing high schools in the country. To rank the schools, U.S. News and World Report and the School Evaluation Services analyzed enrollment and academic information data from more than 21,000 public high schools. The Bolton PTA congratulates Bolton High School, its administrators and teachers on such an impressive accomplishment!
