Schools of Excellence, Volunteering Sub-Committee
The Schools of Excellence Volunteering Sub-Committee held a kick-off meeting in October. This committee will focus specifically on the role of parent volunteers within the school. The purpose of the committee is to provide improved coordination, centralization and utilization of parent volunteers at BCS. The committee hopes that all parents who wish to volunteer in the school have that opportunity, and all staff members who wish to utilize parent volunteers can do so easily. The committee is currently drafting a survey that will be distributed to parents to identify talents that can be shared with the school community and a staff survey to better understand how staff would prefer to utilize parent volunteers. Additional upcoming activities may include establishing a volunteer coordinator role, preparing a volunteer handbook and coordinating a copying service for teachers.
